Donate to Serre de la Madone
The future of Serre de la Madone is in play.
Years of neglect, along with time, climate change, and outdated infrastructure have all contributed to eroding terraces, hothouses in disrepair, a malfunctioning irrigation networks, and uneven surfaces that pose a danger to visitors.
Without ambitious intervention, this reputed beacon of Riviera gardens lovingly created by Lawrence Johnston risks disappearance.
Fortunately, several actors have come together to begin the immense process of restoration in order to protect its future : the town of Menton, the Conservatoire du Littoral, and the Association pour la Sauvegarde des Jardins d’Exception du Mentonnais (ASJEM). But to complete their mission, financial help is needed.
Crucial assistance has arrived in the form of the Mission Stéphane Bern, which selected this expansive restoration as an “Emblematic Project of 2025”. This designation includes Serre de la Madone in the Mission Bern’s annual lottery the Loto du Patrimoine, from which proceeds are used to finance the mission’s projects. In addition, the Mission Bern is using its substantial experience and sway to solicit donations to a dedicated fund intended to provide an additional 100,000 euros.
The precious support of the Mission Bern is a great help, but does not fulfill the full funding needed to save Serre de la Madone, which is why we appeal to the generosity of all through direct donation from individuals, businesses and foundations.
